Now, are any of her feeling right or justified? No. Even worse, she sees that Sunny's with Kel (which at least in her eyes, she views as Sunny siding with Kel over her). This reunion and "betrayal" is also particularly painful for Aubrey due the trust and bond she had with him before Mari's death. And when Sunny does come back, she sees him as being antagonistic and "betraying" her as seen she says "Why Sunny, why now" when they're fighting. This loss hurt Aubrey especially bad because she lost one of the biggest emotional supports she had in Sunny, and losing him made her existing issues only worse. After Mari's death, she not only lost Mari but Sunny as well. We learn that Sunny was one of Aubrey's closest confidants before Mari's death and that she would spend hours confiding with him on the swings as he was the one person she felt she could trust. I think you see this especially in her dialogue with Sunny. After Mari's death, she likely felt like her friends wanted nothing to do with her anymore due to these issues, which started her resentment building back towards others. We learn that Aubrey suffers from major abandonment and attachment issues, which is especially common for troubled kids coming from an unstable household.
